Regroup ~ #38 Earth Healing

On this Wednesday, we are being reminded with the card Earth Healing that we are “here to have your spiritual life journey in a human body”.  We have the ability to both give and receive energy and healing with the Earth.

“You are making a real contribution to the planet through your spiritual journey. Remember this and believe that your needs will be generously met by the earth and the Universe. What you are doing matters, and you will be supported.”

This week opened with some deep wild energy and we are still feeling that mid-week. As we work on ourselves and do our work with others, this card assures us that yes, it is working.  Yes, we are making a difference.  Yes, it is needful and worthwhile.

Keep your spirits up and if you feel a bit weary, spend time connecting with the Earth and feeling that energy and healing exchange.

Violets & Tulips

On this hot summer morning (for many of us in the northern hemisphere) it was refreshing to pull the violet and tulip cards.  These flowers bring to mind cool rainy days followed by mild sunshine, singing birds, and delicious fragrances.

These flowers represent gentleness, faithfulness, friendship and modesty – in other words, it may be a good day to spend some time appreciating the deep friendships in your life.  A day for recognizing them with simple gestures rather than a grand party.

Perhaps an excellent day for catching up over lunch or sitting down to write a little note of kindness to drop in the mail.

a Week of Wild Energy, #17 Himself (r)

The card for this Marvelous Monday is Himself, a card of power and magic and life force.

As we move through this week, Himself guides us to have awareness of our energy and how we use it.  The potential for extreme expressions of power and creativity is present, be on guard that you are channeling your energy towards positive rather than destructive ends.  The negative potential in this card is not so much one of releasing things which do not serve you, but brutality and violence towards others, misuse of power and authority, and all-out destruction.

This seems a bit grim to approach our week on, so I have pulled a second card to inquire about how we might use the energy present in this week in a better way ~  #19, The Sage.

The Sage is a card that runs deep, he evokes mind pictures of ancient time and dense old-growth forests, knowledge and wisdom, mystery and hidden ways.  There is a patience in ancient ways and things.  This card has many potential meanings, but of use to us today and throughout our week is the essence of simplicity.   To embrace this means to contemplate what you have going on, especially the thought processes in your mind.  What needs to be integrated?  What can you discard?  What will you keep?  Do this with compassion for yourself and others.

The Sage appearing also indicates that rather than perceiving your energy as stagnant or blocked, this may be a time for you to spend some time in retreat and contemplation.  This would be using the reversed energy of Himself in a mindfully positive way.

Finally, spend some time in nature – put your bare feet on the earth if you can, hug a tree, lay on the ground and watch the sky, sit by a fountain in the city, watch some pigeons and notice how they interact – think of something, even if it is seemingly small, to engage with your connections to this physical realm.  This will help ground some of the wild energy if you are feeling overwhelmed by it, and it will help your energy flow if you are feeling stuck or stagnant.

Friday Tarot ~ The High Priestess (r), 7 of pentacles

For Fridays I will be pulling a card from various tarot decks.  After a week of oracular guidance I thought it would be nice to see what the tarot has to say about the week behind and the weekend ahead.   These will be very brief ~ after all the weekend is coming and we all have things to do.

Today I am working with the Smith-Waite deck.

The first card is the High Priestess, in a reversed aspect.  This card suggests that you have embraced the week’s journey with passion and a true involvement.  There is a cautionary note here, to not become too immersed in that process so you don’t lose the sense of who you are.

The second card is the 7 of Pentacles ~ the work you have been doing is bringing you rewards.  As you go into your weekend, you can feel confident that this process will continue.

Taken all together, this week has been one of seeking out joy and passion, letting go of things which no longer suit us, re-committing to our goals and growth, and reaping the benefits of that process.
